This film dramatises the early success of Bob Dylan, as he emerges from his roots in dreamy folk music to win the hearts of young people everywhere with his own unique, rebellious style. Chalamet captures the raspy bass voice and surly, provocative charisma of music’s legendary anti-hero with unbelievable accuracy. We see his relationship with folk legends Joan Baez and Pete Seeger blossom but go sour as Dylan turns towards electric music, as ever stubbornly following his own interests in the face of public opinion. Incredibly entertaining through all the twists and turns, the film was nominated for no less than eight Academy Awards.
