We start the evening with award-winning Philip Reeve, author of the “Mortal Engines” series. Philip Reeve and his wife Sarah present their new short film, an imagined life of Arthur’s Queen after she leaves Camelot. Chagford’s own Alan Lee has a cameo role in the film and will join us for the screening, which will be followed by a Q&A.

Winner of the 2023 Oscar for the best live-action short film, also the BAFTA award for the best short film of 2023, this highly entertaining comedy tells the story of estranged brothers reunited. 

We conclude the evening with a screening of the film which won the best Plymouth University student short film of 2023. A special award will be made on behalf of The Film Festival by Alan Lee who has kindly agreed to make the presentation.
