2014 Froud Day

One of the undoubted highlights of the 2014 festival was the hugely successful ‘Froud Day’ with Chagford’s very own Brian and Wendy Froud – the world renowned fantasy artists and creators of the Labyrinth and Dark Crystal worlds – and Toby Froud, their son and also a world-renowned film-maker and puppeteer, who flew in from the USA especially for the festival.

Wendy, Brian and Toby, with William Todd-Jones, led a full-day puppet-making workshop. The participants made their own individual puppets from the materials provided, then learnt about giving it voice and character, them split into groups to come up with a storyline and put on a show.

Wendy and Brian signed copies of their brand new book Faeries’ Tales, then in the evening a double bill of Toby’s new film Lessons Learned (plus exclusive out-takes) and Labyrinth was shown, with a fascinating interview-by-puppet and musical performance in the interval. Back to Photo Galleries
