We are delighted that magical storyteller and former Children’s Laureate Sir Michael Morpurgo will be joining us for the evening to introduce the 2012 film of his book Private Peaceful.

This moving story is set in the fields of Devon and on the WW1 battlefields of Flanders, where two brothers fall for the same girl while contending with the pressures of their feudal family life, the war, and the price of courage and cowardice.

In 1976 Sir Michael and his wife Clare established Farms for City Children, a charity that aims to provide children from inner city backgrounds with some experience of the countryside. The charity has three farms in Iddesleigh, Wales and Gloucestershire and the proceeds of our raffle this evening will be donated to this cause.
