The Film Festival is delighted to welcome back Polly Steele, with her new film The Price of Freedom – a film that will change the way you think about history. She takes us into South Africa’s struggle for racial freedom, but from the unusual perspective of the women and children of the Black movement’s larger than life heroes. While Nelson Mandela and others chose to sacrifice their personal lives for freedom, they were also sacrificing others – who never had the spotlight of world attention and had less choice. Narrated by one of Mandela’s most trusted friends, Mac Maharaj. Polly will introduce the film and join us for a Q&A after the film.
