The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry Spreyton Village Hall
Directed by Hattie MacDonald, starring Jim Broadbent and Penelope Wilton. 1 hour 48 minutes, PG12.
Retiree Harold Fry lives a quiet life with his wife, in Kingsbridge, Devon, until he hears that his old friend Queenie is dying from cancer in Berwick upon Tweed. So he decides, almost accidentally to walk the 500 miles to see her. And that’s when the fun starts. Described in The Times as “immediately one of the great movies about aging and regret” and Jim Broadbent’s acting was hailed in The Spectator as “…a wonder, so real and sincere it doesn’t feel like acting… and Wilton equals him”
